How We Use Contact Data.  We do not sell or disclose Contact Data to third parties for marketing or other purposes except in those limited cases described here.  Subject to applicable Privacy Laws, we reserve the right to use your Contact Data in the operation of our business and to share your Contact Data with our affiliates and subsidiary entities and with third parties that support or compliment our business operations and services.  For example, we may use or share your Contact Data with a fulfillment vendor to send large volumes of email about our services.  We further reserve the right to share your Contact Data with any successor-in-interest to Roaring Brook in the event we sell our business, or substantially all our assets; and with third parties when we determine, in our sole discretion, it is necessary to do so for Roaring Brook’s compliance with applicable law or legal process, or to protect your safety, the safety of our participants or the public, or to protect the rights of other users of the Website or those of Roaring Brook.  Depending on the features and functionality of this Website, we may also use your Contact Data to track your activities on the Website and any online transaction you conduct with us.

Active Participants.  When you apply to be a participant with Roaring Brook, the confidentiality and privacy of your application information and of any other individually identifiable health information you provide to us upon becoming a participant or that we obtain from or about you in order to treat you (your “Protected Health Information” or “PHI”) will be protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and by 42 CFR Part 2 and state privacy laws governing the confidentiality of substance use disorder treatment information (collectively “Privacy Laws”).  We will only use and disclose applicant and participant PHI as permitted by these Privacy Laws and as further described in Roaring Brook’s Notice of Privacy Practices.  If there is a conflict between the terms of this Privacy Policy and the terms of Roaring Brook’s Notice of Privacy Practices, our Notice of Privacy Practices will control.  When you become a participant with Roaring Brook, you will be able to access your participant information and communicate with us online by setting-up a participant account user name and password on our separate secure online participant website.  Your use of the participant website will be subject to the Terms of Use for that website.  

Cookies.  A cookie is a small data file that most major Websites write to your hard drive for record-keeping purposes when you visit them.  Cookies allow Website managers to measure activity on the site.  Our Website does not use cookies to write personal information on your computer.  Roaring Brook does not control cookies from other websites and those cookies are not subject to this Privacy Policy.
